Back to Mac
It's been 3 years, but I'm finally back. When I started my current job, I was handed a Dell D610 running Windows XP. What a piece of junk. It felt like a plastic toy (and so did the operating system :-) The Dell "business grade" laptop only supported 1024x768 resolution, and was as bulky as they come. After many months of using it, I managed to grab a T42 Thinkpad floating around. The construction of the Thinkpads has always been superior to other laptops I've used. They are true business-grade laptops. With the new X300 coming out, they are getting even more enticing. The only drawback I see is the operating system. If you like Windows or Linux on your laptop, you're set, buy an X series Thinkpad. If you like Mac, you only have one choice, buy a MacBook.

MacBook Air Disappointment
I was a little disappointed at the release of the MacBook Air. I was really hoping Apple would release a subnotebook to the MacBook Pro line rather than an iPod'ish MacBook.
The specs on the MacBook Air leave a lot to be desired. It's more spec'ed out for my mom than for an ultra-portable laptop user. Looks like I'll now wait until the MacBook Pro's get an update in a couple of months. Maybe 4 core Penryn's from Intel? That would be sweet.
Incase Protective Cover
I bought the Incase Protective Cover for my iPod Touch. They retail for $29 which is kind of high considering they're just injection molded plastic. They come in many colors, and seem quite durable. The only drawback is they don't include a plastic cover for the front of the iPod Touch, you have to buy this separately and they run another $15 or so. So what I did was took the box the Incase cover came in, which had a plastic viewing window, and cut it out to fit inside the plastic Incase case. It fits perfectly, the only thing is the button at the bottom is sometimes hard to register a click. But other than that, it's a cheap alternative to spending $15 more on a plastic protective cover for the exposed face of the iPod Touch. more...
